Hi Kenn Sydnie explained in the interview on Monday in "The Morning-Show" after winning the competition, that the producers suggested her this (Lauren Alred´s) Version to sing in the finale and she had only 3 days to make it her own with her (BGT-)Voval-Coach. For Sinatra´s "My Way" she had about 4 Weeks ti prepare. She said, that it was very challenging and thanked her coach. A really wonderfull and humble young lady.

HONEY…..TALK TO ME….ARE YOU OK? LOOK AT ME….STICK OUT YOUR TONGUE….PUT YOUR ARMS OUT LIKE THIS……” etc etc….basically running me through a quick TIA (Stroke) test. I took out an “ear” and looked at him with a “WHAT THE HECK?” Look and then said “WHAT are you doing???? Have you lost your mind?”……to which he replied “NO! I thought you were either having a stroke or a seizure or maybe throwing around a burlap bag of Cats! I wasn’t sure WHAT that heinous noise was that was coming from up stairs but now I can see that you were just singing along to …..ummm…….something? Pavarotti? Janet Jackson? Adele? Heck I can’t even fathom a guess.”……..I could see the smirk forming on his face and I said “I was singing an old Buddy Holly song if you MUST know…..”. And of course he just looked at me and backed out of the room very slowly while saying “Ok, I wasn’t sure honey….now, I know Mr. Holly is not longer with us but Please, I beg of you, could you just LET the man RIP because you are truly destroying his music and the cats I swear I hear screaming must be in the alley thinking there is a Gang War coming. So, for the peace of the entire neighborhood I beg of you to just lip sync while your ‘ears’ are in………if for not other reason than that we can’t afford new windows……”…….and he ran away as fast as he could…..smart man. Funny man, but a smart man. Of course I did remind him later, after dinner, that I am a Nurse Practitioner with a Minor is Chem and that I can give him “stuff” that won’t even register on autopsy at his age as it will just look like a heart attack….. so next time it may be prudent for him to think….HARD, before he comes up the stairs thinking he is “FUNNY” because the ONLY one laughing was himself. I also reminded him that he must sleep eventually……and that perhaps it should be with ONE EYE OPEN. At least for the next few days. So Ken…..Therein lay the challenge. With or without a bag, I can not carry a tune. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I DO enjoy listening to you and my hearing is excellent, my voice….not so much. Be well. ❤

Well, this version must trace its origins back to Eva Cassidy's rendition. Now, I was not impressed with Eva's - how should we call it - eccentric phrasing where she inserts pauses in the most unnatural places. And, now this version adds in even more awkward unnatural pauses. What ever happened to good taste.

I like the sinister energy of the song. Ite melody has been playing with my brain all day.

As @uknowispeaksense7056 stated, this is Loren Allred’s version from AGT Fantasy League earlier this year. So the Never Enough influence is there as you stated. Loren is her idol, and Loren gave Sydnie her blessing and congratulated her afterward. A collaboration between the 2 is expected soon. Loren will be in London when she performs with Andrea Bocelli on July 5th, so maybe they’ll get together then.

Syndnie vocals may be a once in a lifetime sound of emotions to listen too, but she was the first to highlight the BGT vocal coach help and looking forward to future help from her. Always learning always growing.

Whenever I record a cover of a song I hate it that I am not pitch perfect, but then I remember that professionals are usually off key the same amount live.

This version is Loren Allred's version. She is the vocalist who recorded Never Enough from The Greatest Showman. Sydnie was also unwell when she sang this.

Sounds to me like you should also check her audition . It's BGT btw and the price is Cash and performing at this years Royal Variety show. Luckily for her probably..the show is not tied to ridiculous recording contracts which usually seems to lead to a 3 album career. Anyway Sydnie's dream is to be on the West End. This arrangement btw comes from Loren Aldredd..Sydnie's idol. Though she did still give it her own twist.

I totally get what you mean by wanting to hear more of that head voice. Surely she’ll record an album soon and there could be a really interesting mix of different singing on there. I’m impatient to hear it.

Honestly, she is clearly very talented and has great potential, and yet this, to me, is utter garbage. Why you ask? Well, because it is just one more over the top black and white "because I can" performance. What is refreshing however, is someone picking up on the little details, like the fact that she, like most, is nowhere near pitch perfect. Thank you.
